The impact of Clean
“When I came across David Grove’s work in 1995 all my familiar escape routes from reality were cut off. And there could be no going back. … The principles of Clean Language gave me a framework for facilitation and change that was simple, chivalrous and subversive.” Read more of psychotherapist Philip Harland’s excellent article, ‘Keeping It Clean’.

Save on your 2007 training
Thinking of polishing your Clean skills during 2007? The dates of our modular trainings for 2007 are now available on the website. Big discounts are on offer for booking more than one module at once - 25% if you book for the entire eight-module programme.

Sharing success stories: Need for speed
One man found his ‘need for speed’ was dominating his life - not just in his love of fast cars, but also in his work and social life. He decided it was time to slow down - and in a 90-minute Clean Language found his own way to do so. Facilitator Jane Malyon said: “There was a radical and visible change in everything about him, instantly! He slowed his speech, he moved with power and grace - before it seemed like the Keystone Cops, frantic movements. He looked calm and thoughtful - and WAS too.” He began to notice details he said he had never seen before, beauty in nature, shadows and light, shapes and colours - and he could barely stop smiling (he said the cherry blossom made him happy). He also said if he had found this technique years ago, he would never have tried drugs: it was better than any ‘trip’.

Win a training with your success stories! Send your stories to by 30 September, to be included in the draw to win a place on the Small Change Company training of your choice (prize must be claimed before 31 July, 2007). One draw entry per story, so don’t hold back!

Taster teleclasses to end?
If you haven’t yet experienced the power of Clean, here’s a last chance to book for the
cheapest and easiest opportunity to do so. After more than three years, top Clean trainer Wendy Sullivan is considering ending her free, regular Clean Language taster teleclasses - and is making two last dates available on 17 and 23 October, both at 7pm BST. Don’t wait! Demand for places is likely to be high and as usual, numbers will be strictly limited so that everyone has the chance to ask and be asked some Clean Language questions. E-mail us to book.

Cleaning tip
Why not ask your client some Clean questions about the good stuff in their landscape - the resource symbols? Just putting a person in touch with the fact they have resources is often enough to change their relationship to a problem. Even if the specific resource you focus on doesn’t seem to be the thing that will resolve the issue, it can be surprisingly effective. How to do it? Ask all the basic Clean Language questions, starting with the developing questions. And don’t forget to ask where the resource comes from: that’s often an even greater resource for the person.

London Practice Group takes off
After a successful three-month trial the London Clean Practice Group is now a monthly fixture in the calendar, on the second Wednesday of each month. It’s held at St Charles Mental Health Unit, W10 6DZ, and is led by experienced Symbolic Modellers. If you have two days’ training or more, it’s a great way to develop your skills and confidence as a Clean practitioner, as well as providing a great opportunity to network with colleagues and explore possibilities for new applications. People with less than two days’ training may attend, but might not be able to participate fully in activities. For more information, e-mail us.

The masters at work
David Grove has a number of events coming up in England and France see the calendar (www.cleanlanguage.co.uk/calendar.php).
