k.a.Module 6 by Skype: Modelling Uniquely
Next date: Starting 19th January 2012
Our Skype-based training is designed for you if you want all the regular Module 6 content but prefer to learn over time, with pauses for reflection, or if you can’t afford to take a block of time out of your work or need to be at home each day.
Every client is a wonderfully unique individual. How much of what they are saying and doing do you really notice? How can you expand your capacity to take in and use more of their information as it emerges?
Can you learn to be guided by the uniqueness of the individual, to notice and trust whatever’s happening in “real time”, and to direct the client’s attention even more exquisitely?
Module 6 by Skype, will consist of 8 weeks of:
- course material,
- some reading,
- a recorded teaching session,
- an interactive Skype call,
- practice group activities (some of them with trainer feedback).
The entire training will be covered remotely. Usually, all you will need for the interactive calls is an up-to-date version of Skype (free to download), and perhaps a headset with a mic. Occasionally we may use webcams too. For your practice group sessions, you may use a webcam more often, and this may mean that at least one person in your practice group will need a subscription to Skype to allow you all to see all the webcams, if you have a group of 3 people. Such a subscription isn’t expensive.
In Module 6 you will:
- Develop the strength, purpose and flexibility to take control of a session while staying Clean
- Master the knack of bringing metaphors to life so they become ‘real’ for the client, who will experience them happening in the room
- Find out when and how to lead your client towards what they are not attending to
- Learn to ‘catch the wave’ when transformation starts to happen right before your eyes
- Practice noticing patterns, meta-patterns and meta-meta-patterns, and find contexts where this is valuable
- Explore how you can most usefully direct your own attention while facilitating
- Enhance your real-time modelling skills
- Use whatever happens, as it happens, including the inherent logic of the client’s system
In more detail, there will be:
- 8 recorded teaching sessions (in MP3 format, lasting about an hour). This allows you to listen to the content more than once if you wish to.
- 8 interactive Skype calls lasting about 2 hours. These calls are used for questions and discussion about the recorded teaching content , other pre-work, and for demos and group activities. Sometimes we may split into smaller groups to do an activity, each group led by a trainer or assistant. Assistants are very experienced Clean facilitators who have a wealth of Clean experience.
- 8 x pre-work activities. E.g. reading the manual, analysing a transcript or completing a work sheet (about 1-1.5 hours a week).
- 1 – 1 ¾ hours facilitating/being facilitated in a small practice group of 2 or 3 people. Working across different time zones can make it tricky to get three people together, and so the practice groups may consist of you and one other.)
- A trainer or assistant will listen in to 3 practice group sessions.
It is possible to miss an interactive session, and to make up a missed practice group session: we record the interactive calls and put them, along with the recorded teaching sessions and the pre-work/practice activities up on our online Academy, so that anyone who has missed something can listen later (and those who attended can listen again if they wish to).
The times/dates on which the practice groups meet is up to the groups themselves to arrange, so you can plan those sessions around the availability of the group members.
Dates & time of interactive calls:
All calls are 7pm UK Time
This course will be run over 11 weeks as there are two breaks during the module allowing you to consolidate. Please see dates below:
Jan 19 and 26
Feb 2, (no session on 6th), 16, 23
Mar 1, (no session on 8th & 15th) 22 & 29
The course is led by Wendy Sullivan, co-author of Clean Language: Revealing Metaphors and Opening Minds. Penny Tompkins and James Lawley have agreed to have a role on this training. The detail of what this entails is still being established but their involvement should be regarded as an extra bonus rather than a regular element of the training.
GOOD NEWS
Because Module 6 by Skype is a pilot, the fee is reduced from £450.00 to £375.00, saving you £75.00 (a 16% saving)
