The impact of Clean

"The possibilities are unlimited. It's like opening up a whole new world. I feel as though a light bulb has been switched on. It's like filling in a jigsaw puzzle, but without knowing how many pieces there are." Nick Parsons, Clean Language teleclass participant

Success stories

Thanks to everyone who sent in Clean success stories to our newsletter competition. We loved reading them - we knew people were getting great results with Clean, in a wide range of fields, and it's wonderful to see the details spelled out. We'll be including some of the stories in future editions of this newsletter. Meanwhile, the winner's name was pulled from a hat by Penny Tompkins at the recent Module 6 training - and winner Annemiek van Helsdingen was there to see her name drawn. Congratulations, Annemiek! Read her success story here..

Discover Your Assertive Self

As someone who is interested in "Clean", you'll appreciate the Clean environment that Marian Way and Penny Tompkins create when they run their Discover Your Assertive Self workshop. This unique, fun - and challenging - workshop is all about you. You'll develop a stronger sense of self, gain in confidence and find out what need to happen for you to be assertive, whatever the context. The next workshop will take place on March 10th and 11th, 2007. For more information, click here.

All change at Small Change Company

Perhaps you've been wondering why the company that's leading the world in Clean training calls itself 'Small'? So have we. We're growing all the time - we'll be holding the first round of Certification in January, and the next basic Clean Language course, Modules 1 and 2 on January 20-23 looks set to be the biggest ever. The company is now owned jointly by co-founder Wendy Sullivan and newcomer Judy Rees, and has big plans to 'spread the word' about Clean worldwide. So, we're changing our name to Clean Change Company with immediate effect. Check out our new-look website (including the facility to book and pay for courses online) at www.cleanchange.co.uk.

Cleaning tip: Keep checking the outcome

Re-saying the outcome to your client can be useful to keep the client focussed on where they wish to head, and also to keep you as the facilitator from going down paths which seem interesting, but are ultimately not germane to the person modelling what needs to happen to get their outcome. If you find yourself confused about what the client has said, or get an indication that things have moved on, repeat back their words and then ask: "And what would you like to have happen now?"

New article by Penny Tompkins and James Lawley reviewing some of the latest research about metaphor. Read it here: Coaching with metaphor.

Good Question! featuring a chapter by Wendy Sullivan is now officially a bestseller after soaring up the Amazon chart last month: full story here
