Success story

Martin Roemer from Munich, Germany was asked by a colleague for help to develop a structure for the management book he is about to write. Martin explained: "After just a couple of Clean questions the client came up with a first version of his metaphor for the book's overall structure. As the session continued he sorted and structured the content, honed the overall metaphor as well as developed metaphors for sub-structures, formulated and improved the headlines of chapters and defined key style elements of the book. After less than 90 minutes the session was finished, with my colleague satisfied." Click here to read more success stories.

Working Magic and Conjuring Change
Ready to take the plunge and begin formal training in Clean Language? To make your first step easier, Clean Change Company has dropped the price of Module 1 on 20-21 January 2007 to just £197 - that's a saving of £100. If booked together with Module 2, 22-23 January, you pay just £457. Full details here. Somewhat controversially, we've changed the names of these modules to 'Working Magic' and 'Conjuring Change' to reflect what past participants have told us about the impact of these courses in their lives. What do you think?

A Christmas Present to Yourself
A Symbolic Modelling Retreat in France, July 2007, with Penny Tompkins and James Lawley. Would you like to take your existing Symbolic Modelling skills to the next level, personally coached and supervised by Penny and James? Or how about experiencing 3 days Clean Language as a client in the beautiful Normandy countryside? Or even better, why not come for a week and do both? For more details, visit: Events-in-France.

Clean at the NLP Conference
Clean Language made an impact at the London NLP Conference, which sold out with more than 400 delegates. With three official 'Clean' speakers on the bill - James Lawley, Wendy Sullivan and Judy Rees - and many other speakers mentioning Clean Language or Symbolic Modelling within their talks, Clean seemed to be an idea whose time has come. For reports and pictures, go to www.nlpconference.co.uk.

Anniversaries all round

November 2006 saw the eleventh anniversary of Penny Tomkins and James Lawley's very first Clean Language and metaphor workshop, and the tenth anniversary of the London Clean Practice Group set up by Dee Berridge and Caitlin Walker, according to Philip Harland's notes from the time. An article on those earliest days of the field is being prepared - do you have any reminiscences to add? Please email us at info@cleanchange.co.uk

Modelling the Modelling Masters

Do you love to learn by watching, listening and experiencing, rather than being 'taught'? Or are you an NLP enthusiast fascinated by modeling approaches? Then this event on 27 and 28 February in Bath, UK is for you. Penny Tomkins and James Lawley will work with a client, observed by a group of experienced Symbolic Modellers including Wendy Sullivan, while 12 members of the public compare notes with them. Places are still available for what promises to be a fascinating collaborative event. Click here: Modelling Masters.

Cleaning Tip
Keep in mind the power of space. Before a meeting or session, set the room up so that the client has a choice of where to sit. Clear your belongings away, and when they arrive, ask them where they would like to be, and then where they would like you to be for the session. This alone can enhance their ability to think, learn, grow and transform.

Article: Drawing the big picture by keeping things simple

The following story appeared in The Times recently. Julian Burton, the artist involved, has been trained by Caitlin Walker and has worked with David Grove and has been known to ask a Clean Language question or two to help get the images and metaphors from the participants that he uses to create his drawings. Read on here.
