Metaphor Landscapes - Some History and Context

Presenter: John MartinJohn Martin

Clean experience required: None

Session details

Though James Lawley and Penny Tompkins coined the term 'Metaphor Landscape' in 2000, the phenomenon has been rediscovered many times. For example, in the 1930s, Robert Desoille developed ways to work with 'Rêve evéillé' - 'Waking dreams'. This session will explore some of this wider background and history. You'll learn to appreciate the wider (albeit often 'unclean!) background to working with metaphor landscapes.

Presenter's details

John Martin was an Open University lecturer for 33 years. A form of metaphor landscape work encountered in the mid-'80s led to an OU video in 2000 and hence to an ongoing contact with ‘Clean'.
