Everyone knows that mixing metaphors is frowned upon, but juggling metaphors is something we all do — expertly — every day. Some of the most striking metaphors can be found in the short, philosophical sayings known as aphorisms, which we also use every day, often without being aware of it. James Geary explores the mystery of metaphor through real live juggling — of words and balls.

You'll get a heightened awareness of the ubiquity of metaphor in daily life and a heightened appreciation for how beautiful - and fun - metaphor is.
